The staff from the waiters, to entertainment, to kids club to the pool staff was just there to make sure you had a great time. The first and 3rd night had an Ice Skating show which is the best show on the ship by far. There was also a comedian, a broadway style production and several of the pubs on the promenade have live music including the Bamboo Room which was a very lively venue. Our kids loved the experience so much they asked to have it for lunch on our day at sea. Unlimited dining plans receive one appetizer two entrees and one dessert per sitting.

Located in the Royal Theater, this production takes a look at the journey of a Showgirl throughout time through choreography, music, and elaborate costumes and set design. Navigator of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbean’s amplified ships, and is currently sailing out of Los Angeles to visit destinations in Baja California and along the Mexican Riviera. Royal Caribbean uses dynamic pricing, which means the pricing for many things will vary per sailing. The daily gratuities and tip are consistent across the fleet, but the pricing for the drink package, internet, and excursions will change. The only way to know your price is to consult the Royal Caribbean cruise planner once you're booked. The table below will help you understand what you might spend onboard a Royal Caribbean ship.

In addition, junior suites have a full bath tub, upgraded bathroom amenities, and offer double Crown and Anchor Society points. As a junior suite and not a regular suite, though, some benefits differ. For example, junior suites do not include access to the suite lounge or complimentary room service. Next to the main pool deck is the Solarium, the adults only pool area onboard. The Solarium on Navigator of the Seas is not completely indoors, but has a combination of covered and uncovered areas.
Onboard activities
We take you through every aspect of our sailing, from getting to the port to debarking the ship. See the schedule of events, menus, what excursions we did, and what we really thought about the ship. During drydock 2019 (January-February) on Navigator OTS was installed The Perfect Storm (dual-racing waterslide complex) which is positioned aft on Deck 13 (between the FlowRider and the Sports Court).

The most recent “Royal Amplified” dry dock occurred in 2019, when the ship was dry docked in the Bahamas, receiving renovations to the tune of $115 million as part of Royal Caribbean’s Amplification initiative. As a quick overview, expect a ship that’s on the modest side, size-wise, serving a maximum near-4,000 passengers, but with double occupancy closer to 3,000 people. We all need a break from routine every now and then, and a weekend escape is the perfect way to relax and recharge or chase thrills with your friends and family.
Hangouts get a a serious upgrade onboard Navigator of the Seas®, with redesigned spaces for kids and teens too. Like a reworked Adventure Ocean® with plenty of space for free play fun, and a reimagined Living Room for teens with a backyard hideaway. Sailing from Los Angeles, the Amplified Navigator of the Seas® is bringing adventure back to the west coast for the first time in over a decade. Whether you choose to level up your weekend or spend a full week exploring the Mexican Riviera, you’re in for a California bold rush.
What it's like to cruise on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas in 2023
The line added Sabor - a Mexican restaurant, and Izumi Japanese Cuisine - Asian-fusion eatery. The Italian Portofino was replaced with a new family-style option called Giovanni's Table. Longtime Royal Caribbean's steakhouse Chops Grille features a revamped menu including premium steak options. The 3-level main dining room was consolidated under one name, the Sapphire and redesigned - now decorated in golds and whites, with a grand staircase, dark carpeting, white linens, and a dramatic chandelier.
The staff was great and the food was for the most part phenomenal. I think the only thing lacking was more dining options during the daytime on the pool deck. There was enough to do onboard, from water slides to mini-golf, the resort-style pool deck, ice skating, rock walls, the sports court, and, of course, the entertainment. Navigator of the Seas has capacity for 3,990 passengers and, from 2002 to 2005, was the world’s largest cruise ship. She has fifteen decks filled with pools, waterslides, bars, diverse dining options, and activities for all ages.
The 2002-built Navigator of the Seas cruise ship is the 4th Voyager-class Royal Caribbean liner, with sisterships Adventure OTS, Explorer OTS, Mariner OTS, Voyager OTS. This is the ultimate specialty dining experience for culinary connoisseurs. Hang on tight for The Blaster® aqua coaster, the longest waterslide at sea.
While Navigator of the Seas offers exciting waterslides, shows, music, and more, some guests are looking for something a little more tranquil. Luckily, there are several ways onboard to fulfill your wellness needs. Mainstream cruise lines cater to a variety of guests, hoping to provide something for everyone. Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas has 11 different bars and lounges where you can enjoy a beer or cocktail. The Navigator of the Seas can hold 3,386 based on double occupancy (two people per room) and more when you take into account 3rd and 4th passengers.
The Vitality Fitness Center on Navigator of the Seas is larger than the space on other Voyager Class ships and offers free weights, cardio machines, and weight machines. It also features a spacious room where workout classes, like yoga and spinning, are offered. The majority of equipment faces large windows which allow for views of the ocean while working out. Specialty Dining options on Navigator of the Seas are varied and include restaurants common on many Royal Caribbean ships, such as Chop’s Grille and Jamie’s Italian. The ship also offers Hooked Seafood, a restaurant found only on Navigator and Symphony of the Seas. One important thing to note is that Navigator of the Seas only offers Izumi Sushi and not Izumi Hibachi.
